SALT LAKE CITY — The Utes have enjoyed a week break and are ready to take on Texas Southern today at home.
Utah (4-4) fell to arch-rival, BYU, 63-58 last Saturday. Despite the loss, the Utes refused to go down easy, cutting an 11-point deficit to four in the final minute of the game.
They were unable to regain the lead, however, and the Cougars handed Utah its fourth single-digit loss of the season.
"Losing any game is frustrating," coach Anthony Levrets said. "We're still trying to figure out our rotation. We have two kids that played a lot last year as freshmen who aren't available due to knee injuries.
"That's made our rotation shorter, and we have to figure that out," he continued. We have to get more people executing. The next couple of weeks are really important for us. It should be a very good practice time for us as we try to hone our execution on th"e offensive end heading into conference play."
The Utes next opponent, Texas Southern, is 1-6 on the year and has dropped its last four games. The Tigers are coming off a 70-37 loss to McNeese State.
