Virginia Annie Hamblin1937 ~ 2011Our dear mom, Virginia Annie Hamblin was surrounded by her family as she joined her loved ones that have passed on, in Salt Lake City, Utah on Thursday, December 15th. Born on May 14, 1937 in St. Johns, AZ to William Grant Hamblin and Mildred Oveson Hamblin. She was sealed in the Mesa, Arizona Temple to John A. Collings. Although they later divorced, they remained good friends. Virginia shared her many talents including, interior decorating, and sewing and mending for everyone. She will be missed on every holiday and family gathering, especially because her amazing recipes will never be the same made by someone else, namely her homemade pancake syrup. Virginia was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and she cherished her pioneer heritage. As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served diligently in her many church callings. Virginia leaves behind her three children: W. Bradley Collings (Kathy), Mitchell Collings (Sheila), and Amy Christensen (Steve). Her sister Ina Briggs. Her Grandchildren: Mandy, Jessica, Clark, Jennifer, Dallas, Chandler, Austin, Paris, Savana, and Cambry. Her Great-Grandchildren: Chad, Brooklynn and Addison. Her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents, her former husband Lawain, her sister Lorene Doyle and her brother Chris Hamblin. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Meadows LDS Ward, 9455 South 4800 West, where a viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment at South Jordan City Cemetery.
