FILE - In this June 3, 2011, file photo, Shaquille O'Neal announces his retirement from NBA basketball at his home in Windermere, Fla. TNT may have to take "Inside the NBA" outside. It's difficult to imagine any studio big enough for O'Neal and Charles Barkley. Shaq is joining Barkley, Kenny Smith and host Ernie Johnson this season, and the network's NBA show may never be the same.

ATLANTA — Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley are debating already.

O'Neal, the Hall of Fame-bound center, is joining Barkley, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson on the set of TNT's "Inside the NBA."

Barkley and O'Neal seemed to disagree on all the NBA's hot stories on Thursday — including the Chris Paul trade and the Dwight Howard saga.

O'Neal says the New Orleans Hornets "totally took a step back" trading Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers. Barkley says the Hornets did well "because they weren't going to win with Chris Paul."

Barkley and O'Neal also gave opposing opinions on Howard's relationship with the Magic. O'Neal says Orlando should give Howard more respect and more help. Barkley says the team has tried to improve.
