Fern Fisher Fackrell1926 ~ 2011Our dear, sweet mom and loving wife, Fern Fackrell passed away in Layton, Utah on Saturday, December 10th. Born on March 21, 1926 in Heber City, Utah to Andrew Walter Fisher and Dora Crook Fisher, she married Dale Willard Fackrell in Bountiful, Utah on May 24, 1957. Fern had a skill for fabrics and sewing. She chose to do what she knew and loved, and worked at both Buchannan Fabrics in Layton and also on the fabric side of Mormon Handicraft until 1985.Fern was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for more than 60 years and held all positions including President of the BSP Ogden City Council.She loved to travel around the world with her best friend and husband of 54 years. They visited Russia, Poland, Scandinavia, Great Britain, Israel and China. She enjoyed seeing the ancient pyramids of both Egypt and Mexico and especially loved visiting her grandchildren in Chicago. Her family was the world to her and she was the glue that held us all together. Fern leaves behind four children: Mark Lee Fackrell (Phyllis), Dayl Marlayne Poulsen (Richard), Melanie Jane Fackrell and Anne Arrington (David). Other survivors include her husband, Dale, sister Jennie Gentry, 14 grandchildren and spouses, and 30 great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren.A viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. this Saturday, December 17th at the Vae View LDS Ward, 1715 West 1600 North in Layton, Utah.Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the same location with cemetery services at 2:30 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, 3401 South Highland Drive in Salt Lake City.
