INDIANAPOLIS — Pacers point guard Darren Collison is fired up about the new options he'll have to pass to this season.

The Pacers added guard George Hill on draft night and free agent forward David West this week.

West was Collison's teammate two years ago in New Orleans before Collison was traded to Indiana. Collison says West will help the Pacers as a scorer, distributor and leader.

West, who is back after having knee surgery late last season, practiced with the Pacers on Tuesday. He says he doesn't expect to play in Friday's preseason opener against Chicago, but he expects to be ready for the season. Coach Frank Vogel said West's knee looked fine, but his conditioning needs to improve.

Collison likes Hill's versatility and scoring ability.
