Lill HeienGenealogist ExtraordinaireLill Heien, age 83, passed away November 21, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born February 26, 1928 to Erik Heien and Lilli Gilbo Heien in Oslo, Norway.Lill was reared and educated in Oslo and studied English in London, England and French in Paris, France. Graduated as a Medical Technologist in New York. While in New York she was introduced to the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and joined the church. After serving a full-time proselyting mission in Norway, she moved to Utah in 1972. Three years later she served a stake mission in SLC. Attended Brigham Young University and LDS Business College. Worked as secretary of Temple Architecture at LDS Church Headquarters in SLC for many years.Lill did extensive genealogical research on her own family lines, including Temple ordinances. She was an avid reader and loved music. She also traveled extensively, highlights being visits to Mexico, the Holy Land and Egypt.Preceded in death by her parents and a sister. She is survived by a brother, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday 11:00 a.m., November 28, 2011 at the Salt Lake Monument Park 12th ward, 2795 Crestview Drive, where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
