John D. Wall passed away Thursday, August 4th following a lingering illness. John was born August 8, 1927 to Angus LeRoi and Blythe Marguarite Brown in Colonia, Dublan, Mexico. John lived in Mexico 12 years and his family moved to Utah in 1939. He attended Lincoln High School in Orem. He graduated in 1945 and was drafted into the United States Army and served in Fukioka, Japan for nine months. He served in the U.S. Air Force with the BYU ROTC program from 1955 to 1957 and was stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming and Selfridge Air Force Base in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He was the Base Supply Officer. He served a two and a half year Mission to Copenhagen, Denmark. He married his eternal companion Gladys Hamilton in the Salt Lake LDS Temple March 24, 1954. John graduated from BYU June 1954 with a B.A. degree in Business Marketing and earned a Journey-Man Certificate in upholstery. He owned Riverton Upholstery where he designed and made beautiful custom built furniture. He drove a school bus for the Jordan School District for 15 years. John served in many positions in the LDS Church including Branch President of the Selfridge Air Force Branch of the LDS Church. He served as Scout Master and enjoyed teaching the Gospel in many organizations. He served on three Ward Missionary Committees with his wife and together they served as Ordinance Workers in the Jordan River Temple for many years. John liked hiking and camping in the mountains. He hiked Mt. Timpanogos approximately 25 times. He is survived by his wife Gladys, sons Randy Wall (Kelly), Lynn Wall (Sylvia), Kris Wall, Larry Wall (Tauna), daughter Tammy Nelson (David), brothers A. LaMar Wall (DoraMae) David Wall (Rosanne), and sister Reva Perry. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Clyde LeRoi Wall and Frank Wall and sister Helena Douros. The family would like to thank Crosslands Rehab in Sandy and Affinity Hospice for 27 months of good care. Special Thanks to Alex Coffman, Merrianne Cook and Jordan Call from Affinity Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Riverton 5th Ward, 13400 So. 1830 W. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 So. 2200 W. and Monday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment in Wasatch Lawn South Valley.
