TUCSON, Ariz. — Matt Palmer threw seven strong innings and Cole Armstrong belted a pair of home runs to lead the Salt Lake Bees to a 7-2 win over the Tucson Padres Monday night. Palmer (2-4), who was named the PCL Pitcher of the Week for May 23-29, allowed just two runs on four hits with five strikeouts and two walks to pick up his second straight win. Bobby Cassevah and Michael Kohn each worked one scoreless inning to close out the game, as the Bees earn a split in the four game series.

Armstrong put Salt Lake in front in the second with a three run homer. Efren Navarro led off with a single and Gil Velazquez walked before Armstrong lofted a 1-0 pitch from Tucson starter Will Inman into the right field bullpen. He made it 4-0 when he led off the fifth with a solo shot to left center. Armstrong ended the night with three hits and four runs batted in. Tyson Auer and Jeff Baisley each added two hits and one RBI for the Bees, as they head to Sacramento to begin a four game series on Tuesday night.
