Braden Clyde Howe 1983 ~ 2011

ROY - Braden Clyde Howe, our beloved son, grandson, brother, and uncle, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, May 12, 2011, surrounded by those who had loved and care for him the most.He was born on April 19, 1983, in Ogden, Utah, the son of Lindsay Keith and Nancy Hull Howe. Despite Braden's precarious situation as a full quadriplegic, following his bicycle accident 15 years ago he enjoyed a full, happy life. Braden was an exceptional young man. He lived in Roy his entire life, graduating from Roy High School. He then went on to graduate from Weber State University in 2008, being the first person to graduate, with a Bachelor of Science degree in telecommunication, totally paralyzed and on life support. He worked at Hill Air Force Base. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a strong testimony of the gospel, and his own purpose on earth. He taught primary, and was a home teacher. He proudly was an Eagle Scout. Braden helped others in many different ways during his life. He enjoyed meeting people, and he would often speak to Scout Groups, Elementary and Junior High Schools, and church groups, on bicycle safety and overcoming obstacles. In 2002, Braden was chosen to be an Olympic Torch Bearer, an experience of a life time that he was honored and overjoyed at receiving. Braden endured his disability by lifting others who were struggling. He had a positive outlook on life, and would bring smiles to those around him. He enjoyed playing video games, and loved being with his family. Braden is survived by his parents, Lindsay and Nancy; brothers, Curtis (Cherri), David (Maren), Aaron (Lauren), and Breon (Maeghan), nephews, Carter, Jacob, Evran, and grandmother, Aline Hull. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Delbert R. Hull, John Clyde and Hazel L. Howe. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., at the Roy South Stake Center, 5725 South 3750 West, Roy, Utah. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah, and on Thursday from 11:30 - 12:30 p.m., prior to services at the church. Interment, Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, Ogden, Utah. The family would like to give a special thanks to all his nurses, Wendy, Bethany, Britnie, Alisa, Lindsay, Eric, Jon, Wade, and Kelly.
