Faye Hardy Richards 1928 ~ 2011

BOUNTIFUL - Faye Hardy Richards passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011. Born in Bountiful, Utah September 29, 1928 to Alma Harold Hardy and Bertha Stahle Hardy. Faye was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. While working at the Salt Lake Hardware Company, Faye met Robert G. Richards. They were married March 5, 1948 and on their 42nd wedding anniversary, March 5, 1990, they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served as PTA President at Bountiful Jr. High for two years. She was president of Soroptimist International of Bountiful in 1983 - 1984. Avon Representative for over 30 years. Faye enjoyed her work as Executive Secretary for over 34 years with the Bountiful Area, South Davis Area, and the Davis Chambers of Commerce. She graduated from the Institute of Organization Management at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Faye completed Post Graduate studies with the Institute at the University of Colorado and Stanford University at Palo Alto. Was on the Board of Directors of the Mountain States Association for 10 years, an organization of Chambers of Commerce of the eight Rocky Mountain States. She was listed in the "Who's Who" of Utah Working Woman. Survived by her two children, Robert Craig Richards and Shauna Richards Blackett; four grandchildren; and seven great grand-children. Also a brother, Wilford Ray Hardy; many loving nieces and nephews; and her loving Boxer "Charlie". Preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Richards, parents, and sisters, Edna Hendrickson and Vonda Burningham. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Bountiful 24th Ward Chapel, 720 East 550 North. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Thursday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
