Jean Hanson Stephenson, age 91, passed away April 1, 2011 of heart failure.Born in Fillmore, Utah October 22, 1919 to Lorenzo Christian and Ora Rose Black Hanson; she was the third of five daughters. She graduated from Millard High School and attended Utah State University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics. She married Homer Nixon Stephenson on January 6, 1942 in the Logan Temple. At the end of World War II they moved to California for Homer to attend Stanford University and earn his MBA. They moved to Sacramento, CA in 1950, where they lived and reared their family. After 50 years in Sacramento she relocated to Centerville, UT to be near family. Jean was active in the LDS Church and held many positions in the Young Women, Primary and Relief Society auxiliaries. She created a beautiful and loving home for her family and was an excellent cook and expert seamstress. She loved gardening and spent countless hours cultivating her camellias. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985. She is survived by her children, Fred H. (Joan), Suzanne (Duane) Carling, Michael B. (Penny) and Linda Jean, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Centerville 19th Ward, 900 South 400 East, Centerville, UT. Interment will be at the Fillmore City Cemetery on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, April 6, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and at the church prior to the services on Thursday morning from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
