Helen "Heather" Hansen Kay 3/22/1925 ~ 4/1/2011

Helen "Heather" Kay passed away of natural causes on April 1, 2011. She was born on March 22, 1925 in Salt Lake City to parents Geneva Harter and Hans P. Hansen. She married Richard Young May on November 1, 1944, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She later married Donald H. Kay of Pasadena, California. They both preceded her in death. Heather lived for many years in California where she raised two daughters. As Executive Manager of the Caltech Faculty Club in Pasadena, she hosted dignitaries from all over the world, including Princess Margaret of England, Robert Kennedy, and President Ronald Reagan. She was a world traveler and with her husband enjoyed visiting many different countries. She later had a successful career in commercial real estate. Heather held the titles of President and Chairman of the Executive Board for the Women's Golf Associations at the El Niguel Country Club and The Lakes Country Club in Palm Desert, where she also won numerous golf tournaments. In recent years Heather lived in Provo, Utah. She enjoyed school and family reunions where she loved to share her memories of growing up in Salt Lake City and taking all of the grandchildren to Lagoon. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Heather is survived by daughters Marian May Brown (Roy) and Merry May Brickley, grandchildren Anna K. (Kent) Findlay, Karina (James) Jackson, Jenner (McKinley) Brown, Sara (Jake) Vane, Tanner (Anne) Brown, Tyler (Ali) Brown, Danny (Carrie) Brickley, Ryder (Karie) Brickley, Brandon (Lacey) Brickley, and 13 great grandchildren Max, Luke, Ryder, Brock, Thatcher, Savannah, Eli, Sofia, Jack, Emma, Reid, Grady, and Asher. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple in Salt Lake City, with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
