Perry Dell Peacock, born 13 May 1931 in Emery, Emery County Utah, passed away peacefully in his sleep 2 February 2011. He graduated from Emery High School, and attended the U.S.A.C. in Logan, Utah , and graduated in 1953. He joined the Air Force, where he was a 1st Lt. and pilot of the Globemaster cargo plane (C-124). Upon leaving the Air Force, he began working at the S.L. Airport where he worked for 25 years in the Air Route Traffic Control Center. Upon retiring, he went into beekeeping, having grown up working with bees with his father. He served as a State Bee Inspector and President of the Utah Beekeepers Association. He enjoyed beekeeping and used it for his livelihood until Parkinson's Disease made it difficult for him to handle them. He was an active member of the LDS Church having served in various ward positions. He is survived by his wife Dorothea Hume Peacock, five children: Perry Dean (Shauna), Springville, UT; Kaylynn Armitstead (John), Pleasant Grove, UT; Mechell Yates (Todd), West Jordan, UT; Brenda Lee Nope (Wendell), Taylorsville, UT; Tawnya Peacock, Rose Park, 29 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, brother, Herschel and sister Charlene Staheli (Stan). Preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. The family would like to express deep gratitude to all who made Dad more comfortable in his final hours, helped Mom and Dad during this difficult time and throughout the last few years. We especially would like to thank friends and neighbors, and the doctors and nurses at both Jordan Valley Hospital and Rocky Mountain Riverton Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held on Feb. 8, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at the Garden Grove Ward, 1925 West 9000 South, West Jordan, UT. Viewings will be held at the church on Monday, February 7, 2011 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to service.
