Hesston Sonny Smith 1988 ~ 2011

Hesston S. Smith entered this world the morning of September 22, 1988 to very proud parents, Brent F. and Karina J. Smith of West Jordan, Utah. While entering this world he joined two caring and loving brothers, Jason and Lionel. Hesston is Navajo, his clans are Todich'ii'ni and Hashk'aa hadzohiEverybody loved Hesston! He was a 22 year old kind-hearted, funny, creative, smart, handsome young man. Hesston was currently employed by UPS as a loader and will be dearly missed by those who shared his company both near and far. His family has always looked up to Hesston and have enjoyed their time with him riding motorcycles and 4-wheelers and seeing him smile. Distant family members wish they were closer to kiss and hug him everyday because he will be greatly missed. Hesston was simply an amazing child from day one. Since he was always accompanied by his father, who called him Hauza, and was considered Daddy's boy. He loved his Mom very much which she returned her love ten-fold and he knew it. Hesston loved his family, and his love was equally reciprocated by his siblings and parents. Hesston loved the outdoors, and was always ready-to-go no matter what adventure. Memorable family time was spent bow hunting, camping and during fishing trips. One of his greatest passions was spending time bow hunting and hiking in the outdoors enjoying the solitude of the mountains. His talent with a bow was extraordinary; he could pick up any bow and out shoot many who have practiced for years. Our beautiful son and brother was taken from us tragically Sunday morning January 30, 2011 to find peace and comfort in God's grace. He is now free to fulfill his destiny in God's hands. Though our hearts ache and we are filled with great sadness, it was never Hesston's intention to leave his loved ones behind. Surviving Hesston are his loving parents, Brent F. and Karina Smith and brothers Jason and Lionel Smith. Maternal grandfather, Joe James Sr. of Rough Rock, AZ; Paternal grandmother, Frances G. Smith of Sandy, Utah; and many other relatives. Preceded in death by his loving grandfather Fred N. Smith, grandmother Louise S. Harrison, uncle Darren Smith and cousin Trevor N. Tsosie.
