PROVO — When the dust settled after a wild weekend in college basketball, featuring numerous losses by top 10 teams, BYU climbed one spot from No. 9 to No. 8 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday morning.

The Cougars (20-2) knocked off San Diego State (21-1) on Wednesday and then fell at New Mexico Saturday at The Pit. The Aztecs, which bounced back with a victory over Wyoming Saturday, dropped from No. 4 to No. 7.

In the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll, BYU remained in the No. 9 spot while SDSU fell to No. 6.

Utah State (20-2) moved into the AP poll for the first time this season, moving all the way in to the No. 22 spot. The Aggies moved four spots in the coaches poll to No. 21.
