Bingham lineman dominated the trenches all game finishing with six tackles and three sacks.

Bingham's defense harassed Fremont's quarterbacks throughout the game, tying a state championship game record with seven sacks. Skyline was the most recent team to rack up seven sacks in a title game as it did so against Brighton in 1997.

Bingham tried to establish the run by running the ball on its first eight plays. It wasn't really working, though, as Fremont stacked the box. Eventually, the Miners looked to throw, and QB Stefan Cantwell made the most of it with three straight completions and a TD pass to open up the 7-0 lead.

After a 60-year state title drought from 1946 to 2006, the Miners have now won three of the past five 5A titles — 2006, 2009 and 2010. It's all-time record in title games is now 7-2. The undefeated season (13-0) was the second in school history, second only to a 14-0 mark in 2006.

"It's the best group I've ever been around. I don't think there's ever been a team with this many quality individuals." Dave Peck, Bingham coach
