Former presidential adviser Karl Rove, who grew up in Utah, will make three stops in the state next week to promote his new book, "Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight."

Rove, often referred to as President George W. Bush's "political brains," will make appearances at bookstores in Provo and Logan Wednesday and in Murray Thursday.

He will be signing copies of his book Wednesday in Provo from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Borders, 4801 N. University Ave., and in Logan from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Borders, 1050 N. Main.

Rove's only Salt Lake-area stop on his national book tour is Thursday in Murray at Barnes & Noble, 5249 S. State. He was first exposed to politics while attending Olympus High School and the University of Utah.

Rove served as senior advisor to Bush from 2000 to 2007 and as his deputy chief of staff from 2004 to 2007. He is now a Fox News contributor and a columnist for the Wall Street Journal and Newsweek.
