A Salt Lake man accused of killing his roommate has been ordered to answer the charge in 3rd District Court.

Michael J. Wimble, 33, is charged with second-degree murder in the April 13 strangulation death of Ronnie Dyer, 42, whose body was found in an apartment at 228 S. Third East.

In a preliminary hearing Thursday, 3rd Circuit Judge Paul Grant ruled there was enough probable cause to believe the charges are true and ordered Wimble bound over to the district court, which has jurisdiction over felonies.

A witness told police that Wimble told him he had killed Dyer by choking him with his hands for five minutes.
