It is frustrating to hear what the three presidential candidates have to say on the subject of energy independency. They only provide cheap rhetoric. They speak of investigating and punishing the oil companies for their assumed gouging of prices. They promise to pursue the development of other expensive and unproven methods of energy, some of which are causing Third World populations to starve. The words "domestic drilling" have become politically incorrect. In the meanwhile, China will explore for oil off the coast of Cuba, and Venezuela continues exploration off the Orinoco River.

The United States' refusal to drill for its own oil is economic suicide.
