A woman who was being held against her will was rescued after she was able to text message a friend.
Just before 12:30 a.m. Friday, police received a call from a woman who claimed her friend wasn't being allowed to leave a business near 1500 S. 3400 West and was text messaging her for help, according to a Salt Lake police report.
An officer obtained the friend's phone and began texting the woman himself. She was able to tell him where she was, the report said.
The officer arrived at the man's place of employment and found he was standing in front of the woman's vehicle and not allowing her to leave.
The man was arrested for investigation of unlawful detention.
