PROVO — The Democratic Women of Utah County will be cleaning up the highway between Springville and Provo on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m.

The local group cleans that portion of the highway two to three times a year in an effort to protect the environment and beautify the area. Interested community members are encouraged to join in the effort and may meet at the Red Robin parking lot at the Provo Towne Centre Mall that morning at 9 a.m. Water and snacks will be provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves.

The group also also sponsors monthly luncheons or dinners with informative speakers, support local candidates, and provide issue-based advocacy. New members are always welcome to join.

Besides cleaning up the highway, the women's group provides a yearly scholarship at UVSC, supports Project Read and other community groups, and gives Christmas gifts to a Sub for Santa family during the holiday season.
