A trio of high school boys could be in some deep do-do once police catch up with them.

Police say the boys went into 7-11, near 2200 East and 9400 South, and while the clerk wasn't watching, put a one-gallon plastic bag filled with human feces into the microwave and set the cooking time for 10 minutes, said Sandy police Sgt. Victor Quezada.

The clerk told police he realized what had happened once he an unbearable odor began to overtake the store. The store had to be closed for awhile until the stench was cleared out, Quezada said.

The store was forced to replace the microwave, and because it cost $3,500, the incident is a felony crime, he said.

A surveillance camera caught the boys, all believed to be high school students. Police Monday were in the process of identifying the juveniles.
