OREM — Utah Valley State College board of trustees welcomed two new members during its meeting Thursday night. UVSC student body president Joseph Watkins and alumni president J. Scott Jenkins took their oath of office. Jenkins, 54, of Orem is the executive vice president of manufacturing for Twinlab Corporation, a global nutritional and wellness company based in American Fork.

He attended Brigham Young University, after which he went to UVSC flight school. He has served on the Mountainland Applied Technology board of directors.

Watkins, 24, of Provo has been involved with student government for the past two years. He started out as a department representative and then worked as the senator of the School of Technology and Computing. He is earning his bachelor's degree in integrated studies and an associate's degree in drafting technologies. The trustees also honored outgoing student body president Kris Coles, 24, of Orem, a junior majoring in psychology.
