An 18-year-old man who police say was selling marijuana out of his house to high school students was arrested early Friday by Salt Lake County Sheriff's detectives.

The investigation began after the sheriff's office received a tip from a concerned neighbor about the large amount of short term traffic at the house, near 1700 East and 7250 S., said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Jon Fassett.

After some investigating, detectives obtained a search warrant and showed up at the house early Friday, he said.

Inside, deputies found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and other items suggesting drugs were being sold out of the home.

The man was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of drug possession, a second-degree felony. Another teenager was also cited and released, Fassett said.

The man lived with his family who were unaware of his drug dealing activities, he said. His main clients were high school students, Fassett said.

The investigation into how he was obtaining his drugs continued Friday.
