U.S. oil companies provide us with one of the greatest values on the market, even at three bucks a gallon (still cheaper than bottled water). And they deserve every penny of profit that they earn.

Instead of biting the hand that feeds us, perhaps we should try placing the blame where it really lies: with our elected officials, who produce nothing. Instead of asking them to further shackle the actual producers, we ought to tell them to keep their hands off.
