Queen Elizabeth II's husband left a London hospital Sunday after three days of treatment for a chest infection.
Prince Philip, 86, waved to reporters as he left King Edward VII hospital in central London. He was admitted last week with a bad cold and is convalescing at Windsor Castle, near London, a spokeswoman for Buckingham Palace said.
The prince canceled a dinner event planned for this evening, the spokeswoman said, adding that other items on his schedule would be dealt with on a "day-to-day" basis.
Philip was taken to the hospital late Thursday afternoon, but the news was not made public until Friday.
