PLAYERS ON THE RISE: Senior running back Eric Lee is a wide load. The Canadian, who transferred from Glendale JC in Arizona, is making the most of his time in the backfield with starter Trey Ping recovering from shoulder surgery.

Lee had 82 yards rushing for two touchdowns and hauled in a 30-yard screen pass for another score.

INJURY REPORT: In addition to Smith, there were a handful of players sitting Saturday's scrimmage out. Junior receiver Tim Toone watched from the sidelines, as did fullback Marcus Mailei and a few linemen who have either been banged up or are still suffering from a variety of bugs that caused a delay in WSU's practice schedule.

NOTES: The Wildcats will be back on the practice field Tuesday and Thursday at 3 p.m., with another scrimmage scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m.
