I don't understand the criticism of law enforcement for delaying an Amber Alert for Hser Nay Moo. There is specific criteria in place so as not to place an alert for a child who has simply wandered off. I do believe that there should be an element added where, say, a child under the age of 8 has been gone for a specific amount of time but, in this tragic case, an Amber Alert issued any earlier would not have saved this sweet girl.

We need to realize the reason for the criteria and apply them to each missing child case carefully before issuing an Amber Alert. Otherwise the alert system simply becomes like those loud car alarms, annoying, ignored and useless.
