WOMEN'S GOLF: After two rounds at the BYU Dixie Classic, the Cougars lead the tournament at 9-over-par, 14 strokes ahead of second-place Nebraska. Juli Erekson currently is in first place at 5-under-par, Natalia Jimenez sits in second place at 1-under-par, and Shayla Forsey is in third place at 3-over-par.

TRACK & FIELD: Men's and women's athletes will compete at three sites this weekend — BYU hosts the Cougar Invitational through Friday; three pole vaulters will be at the Texas Relays on Friday, and the men's and women's distance squads will be running at the Stanford Invitational this weekend.

The decathlon and heptathlon finish today at the Cougar Invitational, with the rest of the running and field events Friday starting at 11 a.m.

Three BYU decathletes won four of the first five events in Wednesday's decathlon at the Cougar Invitational. Justin Palmer won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.24 seconds and the shot put with a throw of 43 feet 9.75 inches. Chase Dalton won the high jump, clearing 6 feet 7 inches. Jordan Calderwood, won the 400-meter dash in 50.67 seconds. And Phillip Bettis, an unattached decathlete, leads the standings after day one with 3,599 points.
