Yonder Mountain String Band will release its fifth live CD.

YONDER MOUNTAIN STRING BAND; "Mountain Tracks: Vol. 5" (Frog Pad Records) ****

On April 15, the Yonder Mountain String Band will release its fifth live "Mountain Tracks" CD. On Wednesday, the band will play at Harry O's in Park City.

If you haven't seen this band, now is the time.

But if you can't make it, wait a few days and buy the new CD.

The group — mandolinist Jeff Austin, stand-up bassist Ben Kaufmann, banjoist Dave Johnston and guitarist Adam Aijala — has collected 24 dynamic tracks from Todd Snider's "Sideshow Blues" to the crowd favorite "Death Trip."

The laid-back attitude, mixed with some intense jamming, is captured within the confines of this CD.

The band's original works, "Long Time," "Things You're Selling," "Head of That Woman," "Near Me" and "Different Day" complement the likes of Bill Monroe's "Kentucky Mandolin," Ralph Stanley's "If I Lose" and Dan Emmett's "Boatman's Dance."

Sure, part of the draw of a live YMSB is to see these musicians work their craft, but "Mountain Tracks: Vol. 5" will undoubtedly fill the fix until the next time the band swings into town.
