FRISCO, Colo. (AP) — A pileup involving as many as 75 vehicles on snowy I-70 shut down Colorado's main east-west route Monday, killing at least one person and seriously injuring several others, officials said.

A semitrailer truck jackknifed and caused the original crash, said state trooper Gilbert Sullivan, who confirmed the fatality and said others were injured in the crash near Vail Pass.

"We have up to 60 to 75 cars involved," Sullivan said.
