WEST JORDAN — West Jordan is getting a boxing barn.

Resident Bill Jenson has turned over a large collection of boxing memorabilia to the West Jordan Historical Museum. Many of the items, which include photos, posters, punching bags and a sparring ring, come from his father. Marv Jenson trained Utah fighters from the 1940s to the 1980s.

The museum will build a barn to showcase the state's boxing heritage on its grounds next to Veterans Memorial Park. With a $50,000 contribution from the state, construction could begin as early as this fall.
