At Tulsa, Okla., Oral Roberts overtook BYU in the sixth and eighth innings Thursday to claim a 13-9 victory. Dodging thunderstorms and swirling winds that helped eight home runs leave the yard, the Golden Eagles (14-6), twice came from behind. Two BYU homers gave the Cougars leads of 2-0 and 4-0. BYU, now 12-13, rallied for five runs in the eighth to lead 9-8, but ORU surged ahead in the bottom of that frame to take the lead for good. The two teams meet in the second of three games today at 6 p.m., MDT.
GOLF: Freshman Esteban Calisto's phenomenal third round at the U.S. Collegiate Championship in Alpharetta, Ga., helped him achieve a solid 10th place finish at 2-over-par. The Cougars shot 7-over-par as a team in the third round, finishing in 15th place at 56-over-par.
