A 42-year-old man who had just moved into a Salt Lake house with his family was arrested Wednesday after allegedly striking his wife with his SUV.
The man and his wife were having an argument Wednesday morning at their house near 1300 E. South Temple, said Salt Lake police detective Jeff Bedard.
After arguing inside the house, the man left to get into his SUV to leave, he said. The wife got behind the vehicle to stop him from leaving, but the husband continued to back out, struck her and drove off, Bedard said.
The man claimed he didn't hit her. But a neighbor told police otherwise and the woman had a broken arm, he said.
The man was arrested for investigation of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony.
