HIGHLAND — Highland will be holding an Emergency Preparedness Fair at Lone Peak High School Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fair will feature dozens of vendors, booths and classes to better educate members of the community on the importance of preparedness.

In association with the fair, there will also be a mock disaster, where the American Red Cross will help in simulating a tornado.

All members of the surrounding communities are invited to attend and volunteers are also needed to help conduct the mock disaster. Those interested may call Ed Hall at 373-8580 or just show up between 8-9 a.m.

Volunteers for various agencies such as the County Health Department, Community Emergency Response Team, the American Radio Emergency Services, the Red Cross and Volunteer Organization Active in Disasters will be involved.

Every hour there will be six different classes to choose from that will help educate families on how to be prepared for a number of different emergencies. Families are encouraged to attend.
