A 60-year-old woman was killed this morning in Salt Lake City when she was hit by a pickup truck while crossing the road.

Salt Lake City Police Lt. Rick Findlay says the woman had just gotten off of a bus with her husband and was crossing 1000 North near 1400 West. Neither the woman nor the truck driver apparently saw each other.

Findlay says the woman was 40 to 50 feet from a crosswalk.

Investigators are looking into how fast the truck was moving, but no charges are pending at this point.
