"An ounce of morning is worth a pound of afternoon" was often quoted by my mother. Because my personality agreed with it, five years ago I was not pleased when the Deseret News became the Deseret Morning News. Morning for me was a time to pay attention to the numerous challenges and demands of the day. Early evening was a time to put my feet up, relax and enjoy the newspaper.

It has also been suggested, "One is only as old as the degree of pain one feels when a new idea comes along." I can report that I have not felt pain over the change. However, I still miss the excitement of looking forward to bringing in the paper before dinner and enjoying the words warm off the press, rather than those words delivered in the very, very dark wee hours of the morning.
