A man charged with fatally gunning down a popular Utah Valley State College coach will stay in jail with bail set at $2.5 million cash only until his preliminary hearing.
Eugene Christopher Wright, 32, is charged with first-degree felony murder in connection with the fatal shooting last year of Kenneth Dolezsar, 50.
Dolezsar was to meet an unknown person for breakfast at the Village Inn at 150 W. 10600 South and was killed in the parking lot.
Dolezsar was a well-liked assistant hockey coach and successful businessman.
Dolezsar's killer fled in Dolezsar's SUV after the shooting.
Third District Judge Terry Christiansen denied a defense attorney's motion to reduce Wright's bail, but the court will reconsider the bail issue after a March 26 preliminary hearing.
