BARRY CUNLIFFE, professor of European archaeology, Oxford University in England, will deliver the 2008 Grace Elizabeth Shallit Memorial Lecture, Monday, 3 p.m., Harold B. Lee Library Auditorium, Brigham Young University, Provo. The topic is "Who were the Celts?"

BRENDA MILLER, author of "Season of the Body" and co-author of "Tell it Slant: Writing and Shaping Creative Nonfiction," will read from her work, Wednesday, 7 p.m., Salt Lake City Main Library, 210 E. 400 South.

MICHAEL KODAS, Pulitzer-Prize-winning author of "High Crimes: The Fate of Everest in an Age of Greed," will give a multimedia presentation, Thursday, 7 p.m., Sam Weller's Bookstore, 211 S. Main. It is Kodas' assertion that Everest is a magnet for corruption and violent crime.

UTAH CENTER FOR THE BOOK calls for entries for the 2007 Utah Book Award in fiction, nonfiction, poetry and young people's literature. Deadline for entries is April 1. Award winners will be announced at the Great Salt Lake Book Festival in the fall. For more information, call 524-8200.
