PROVO — Local residents are invited to attend a meeting tonight that aims to reduce local gang-related activity.

The Provo City Gang Initiative, a group of concerned community members, will meet for the first time today at 7 p.m. at the Provo City Library at 555 N. University Ave. Noela Karza, assistant program director of Slate Canyon Youth Center, said the goal of the meeting is to put together a program to address gang-related issues.

The event is being organized by Karza and Provo School District gang specialist Koki Cline.
