A 64-year-old man traveling with his fiancee was killed Saturday morning in a rollover crash about 19 miles north of Hanksville.
The 10:30 a.m. crash claimed the life of 64-year-old Ogden resident Robert A. Sphar, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Ted Tingey.
Sphar was the passenger in a full-size truck hauling a camper when he died, Tingey said. The truck was headed west on state Route 24 in Emery County when it swerved off the road, overcorrected and spun sideways. It then rolled.
The camper disconnected from the truck and also rolled.
Sphar was wearing a seat belt but was crushed as the side of the truck caved in, Tingey said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fiancee, who had been driving, was taken to Castleview Hospital in Price, Tingey said. She told police she didn't remember how the crash occurred.
