Volunteer Income Tax Assistance — Volunteer a minimum of three hours a week through April 15. Help low-income families keep more of what they earn and bring millions of dollars into our economy. Training provided.

Discovery Gateway — Volunteer hosts needed for traveling exhibit called Sesame Street: The Body. Volunteers help guide guests through exhibits and many other opportunities.

Camp Hobe — Volunteers needed for summer camp: June 14-20, to help campers ages 6 to 12; June 22-27 to help campers aged 12 to 19; and June 22-24, campers ages 4 to 7. Positions include counselors, activity leaders, cooks, medical staff and lifeguards.

International Rescue Committee — VITA-certified volunteers or CPAs needed to file refugees' taxes at on-site tax preparation workshop. Two to four hours a week.

Juvenile Justice Service — Volunteers needed to help incarcerated youths. Opportunities include reading groups, financial fitness groups and recreational activities. Hours are flexible.

People Helping People — Volunteers needed who can give low-income women the knowledge, tools, confidence and encouragement to earn a living wage. Volunteers serve eight to 12 hours a month.

Salt Lake County Aging Legacy Corps — Salt Lake County Aging Services is looking for new volunteers for the Legacy Corps program. Volunteers provide respite care to people in Salt Lake County. Volunteers must commit to one year of service and will receive a yearly stipend of $2,200. Sign up now as the new year starts April 1.

Salt Lake City Susan G. Komen for The Cure — A volunteer with fundraising and event-planning experience is needed to serve as the chair for the 2009 Race for the Cure. A variety of other opportunities are available.

Utah Museum of Fine Arts — Volunteers needed to fill positions as hospitality hosts, visitor service desk aides, and gift shop assistants for the Monet to Picasso exhibition. Volunteer a minimum of one four-hour shift per week from June 23 through Sept. 21. Training provided. Applications due by March 17.
