It was recently reported that the Utah "parent TEACHER Association" (pTA) got an award from the national "pTA" for stopping vouchers last November. And in the latest legislative session, the "pTA" unsuccessfully lobbied against an open enrollment bill that 97 percent of legislators voted for — a bill that makes it easier for parents to put their kids in the public school of their choice.

I wonder if at the next awards ceremony they'll be honored for being the most persistent in trying to stop parents from having any say in where their kids attend school.
