PROVO — A preliminary hearing for a former Eagle Mountain interim mayor charged with accepting gifts from developers was continued until May.

Linn Strouse, 50, was scheduled to be in court Thursday morning for a preliminary, or evidentiary, hearing on one count of accepting a gift or loan when prohibited, a second-degree felony.

However, her attorney, Ron Yengich, filed an order with 4th District Court to continue the hearing until May 2 at 8:30 a.m.

Prosecutors allege that Strouse accepted $10,000 from a developer in Eagle Mountain to help with remodeling her basement but failed to report the gift to city officials.
