Three readers won $50 and a Deseret Morning News Hoops Picks T-shirt this past weekend for their prognosticating skills in the Hoops Picks Contest. Eighteen runners-up also won T-shirts.

Scott Aagard of Fountain Green was the only participant out of 215 in the 5A boys contest to pick 14 of the 15 games correctly. Runner-ups were Steven Knudson, Ogden; Shane Roylance, Farmington; Randy Johns, Sandy; Steve Bennett, Salt Lake City; Isaac Higham, South Jordan; and Chris Sorenson, Tooele.

The winner of the 4A boys contest was Claud Williams of Hyrum. Out of 237 entries, Williams was one of only two participants who picked every game correctly, but he was closer to the final score. Runner-ups were Brad Lutz, Grangeville; Tim Guenther, Janesville; TG Wesley, Orem; Robert Zink, Ogden; Kevin Nixon, Kaysville; and Matt Wihongi, Tooele.

In 1A boys, Falyn Owens of Panguitch picked all 15 games correctly, the only one out of 200 entries to do so. Runner-ups were Scott Taylor, Manila; Frank Alvey, Escalante; Terrence Mitchell, Escalante; Derrik Shakespear, Springville; Tanya Rose, Milford; and Joe Black, Panguitch.
