To raise money for The March of Dimes to help all babies be born healthy, Liberty Tax Service is holding its free tax return program this week, ending Friday. In exchange for a $25 donation to March of Dimes, Liberty will waive its tax preparation fees.
On Saturday, April 5, Liberty Tax Service will host "roadside parties" featuring food, fun and entertainment, as well as a chance to dance with Lady Liberty and enter the video of their dance in the Liberty Dance for Babies Contest. The contest is an online fund-raising activity that invites people to upload videos and pictures of themselves or their children dancing onto the LibertyDanceForBabies.com web site. Roadside parties will take place in over 2,700 Liberty Tax locations nationwide including participating Utah offices.
March for Babies, formerly WalkAmerica, the March of Dime's largest fund-raising effort, will be held in four locations in April and May. Salt Lake and Logan are April 26, while Weber/Davis counties and Utah County are May 3. The money raised supports the Teddy Bear Den, which encourages low-income women to get prenatal care. It also helps fund NICU Family Support at University Hospital, which helps families with premature babies. And it pays for conferences and other education efforts to prevent birth defects, preterm birth and infant mortality.
