Salt Lake City police detectives investigate the scene where a body was found in alley near 300 West and 900 South. It was the first of two suspicious deaths reported Monday to Salt Lake police.

Salt Lake detectives were investigating two suspicious deaths Monday but had few details to release.

About 10:20 a.m., a person walking down an alley near 300 West and 900 South, near Trails Men's Club, spotted what he thought was a body, said Salt Lake police detective Robert Eldard.

Officers arrived a short time later and called homicide detectives after noting some type of trauma on the body, he said.

Investigators Monday released little other information except the body was that of a male. They did not say what kind of trauma, what the man was wearing or if he had any identification on him.

About 3:30 p.m., a 14-year-old boy was found dead inside his home near 900 West and 1100 South. The death was called suspicious, but police later said they did not anticipate making any arrests.

"We're not looking for any suspects," said Salt Lake police detective Jeff Bedard.

A cause of death would not be released until an autopsy was completed, he said.
