Two convicted felons were arrested again by Salt Lake City police Monday after officers caught them with a number of guns.

Detectives were conducting surveillance on a known felon near 650 S. and 900 East when they spotted him loading unknown items into a vehicle, said Salt Lake police detective Jeff Bedard.

Officers pulled the vehicle over and inside found several firearms, he said. Further investigation led to the discovery of more firearms, though police Tuesday declined to say where they were found.

A total of nine firearms, including handguns, rifles and shotguns, were seized. Investigators Tuesday said they had no idea what the duo planned to do with the weapons or where they got them.

Boyd Oman, 22, and 53-year-old Kerry McNealy were arrested for investigation of restricted people in possession of firearms.

McNealy was convicted in 2002 of second-degree felony attempted drug possession with intent to distribute and theft in a separate case. Oman was convicted in 2003 of drug possession, according to court records.
