OGDEN — The Brighton Bengals dominated the first quarter behind Abraham Millsap's seven points en route to an easy 73-53 victory over Hunter in the opening round of the 5A state tournament.

Both teams spread the scoring around, with twenty-one different players getting on the board and far more than that seeing time. Jace Tavita led Brighton with 20 points and Millsap added 13.

AJ Pataialii led Hunter with 15 points and seven rebounds and Harold Moleni also added seven boards.

LONE PEAK 69, FREMONT 47: Top-ranked Lone Peak opened what many around the state believe will be a weeklong march to an inevitable 5A championship.

As usual, the 20-2 Knights, who haven't lost to a Utah team since their season-opening setback to Provo in November, cruised to the win over the big underdogs with big performances from multiple players. A complete roundup of both games can be found online on deseretnews.com.
