Salt Lake City police are investigating a pair of drive-by shootings, including one that left a person wounded.

Police said the first shooting happened at 4:42 a.m. Saturday, when an officer near 400 North and 1200 West spotted a vehicle turn onto 1200 West. Two people were in a parked car when shots rang out, police said. The An officer saw heard five shots, three of which hit the car.

About 4:45 a.m., police said a person was standing on the North Temple overpass near 700 West when shots were fired from a red Oldsmobile Alero. The victim was hit in the lower abdomen. Officers chased the car near Redwood Road and arrested two people a short time later.

A ondition of the shooting victim was unknown Monday.

Police said the two drive-by shootings do not appear to be connected.
